IN MEMORIAM
CHARLES L. “CHUCK” HANSEN

Charles L. “Chuck” Hansen of Rockton, IL died Thursday,
June 26, 2008 in Dubois, WY. He was 80 years old.
Memorial services were held Thursday, July 3rd at Horse Creek Campground.
Charles Lawrence Hansen was born in Beloit, WI on October 8, 1927, the son of
Elmer Hansen and Winnifred (Champney) Hansen.
He grew up in Beloit, attending schools there, and living there for 23 years.
The next 37 years were spent in South Beloit, IL. Since his retirement, Mr. and
Mrs. Hansen wintered in Yuma, AZ and summered in Dubois, WY.
Mr. Hansen was a Merchant Marine during World War II.
On April 21, 1951, he married Elizabeth "Betty" Hoeft in Beloit.
Mr. Hansen worked for Wisconsin Power and Light Company in Beloit, WI for over
40 years, where he spent 20 years each as an operator and a laboratory
technician.
He was a member of the NRA, IBEW and was a Shoshoni National Forest Service
volunteer and campground host for the past 21 years.
He enjoyed making remote controlled boats and planes, rock hunting and lapidary
work, camping, fishing, hiking, photography and target shooting.
Among his survivors are his wife Betty Hansen; sons, Russell Hansen (friend
Karen), Arne Hansen (wife Pam), and Mark Hansen (wife Lorraine); daughters,
Barbara Peterson (husband James) and Mary Paris (husband Don); brothers, Fred
Hansen (wife Carol) and Ed Hansen (wife Penny); sister, Marie Novacheck (husband
Al); 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Mr. Hansen was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Winnifred Hansen and
a grandson, Brian Paris.
